1. Self-Publishing
28 November  – 2 December, 2022

A practical, hands-on course for writers in an idyllic setting.
In combination with YouCaxton Publications,  one of Britain’s foremost self-publishing companies.

Your chance to learn about all aspects of self-publishing in pleasant and relaxing surroundings, half-holiday, half- serious study.

At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of what’s involved in self-publishing and publishing in general. You will be able to make informed decisions – given the nature of your particular book or books – about which aspects of the process you want to undertake yourself and which it would be best to commission from professionals.

Framed by its peaceful location in the South-Shropshire hills, the experience is designed to be enjoyable and relaxing as well as informative. You will be able to share ideas with fellow writers and develop your understanding of writing itself, of types of editing and design, of production processes, and of marketing and the targeting of potential readers.

The course is structured around a series of presentations with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion and with time to look at your own project in detail.

There will be time for private thought in a beautiful rural setting between a series of presentations, with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. If you have written a book or you are in the process of writing one, you will find this an informative and stimulating workshop.

A practical, hands-on course for writers in an idyllic setting.
In combination with YouCaxton Publications,  one of Britain’s foremost self-publishing companies.

This workshop will give writers working within the general category ‘niche non-fiction’ the necessary skills to consider how best to make their work available to their particular readership in a professional manner. The workshop will cover all aspects of self-publishing as with our other workshops, but the focus will be on the advantages conveyed by a niche market and how best to exploit it. There will be plenty of time for private thought in a beautiful rural setting between a series of presentations, with much opportunity for questions and discussion on your particular project. If you have written a book on any niche subject or you are in the process of writing one, you will find this an informative and useful workshop.
